Edmonton Stamp Club
2022 Spring Stamp Show
April 2-3 2022

The hard work of planning and promoting by ESC members, volunteers and visitors at this year’s 2022 show paid dividends for dealers which left collectors totally broke! 😂 However huge smiles 😁 on their faces provided evidence many had filled “gaps” in their collections.

The 2022 Theme: “Stamp Collecting Fun For The Family” had a positive impact on the show as eleven (11) new memberships were sold. This was the best in recent times. Now these families can take part in a variety of programs offered by the ESC.

Show setup started Friday at 5:00 pm when dealers from Western Canada rolled in with bundles of new product. Simultaneously, ESC members we’re bringing in their Fun Frame Exhibits. A new initiative started by the members.

Friday evening ended with everyone socializing, sharing stories and relaxing (if you can - with the excitement of the weekend show which was the first in three long frustrating years).

About 400 collectors in total were present at the two-day show (Saturday being the busiest). This was a huge accomplishment, as the aftermath of COVID was yet to be determined. As well the ESC show competed directly with an antique and collectables show during the same weekend.

Sales were brisk for just about every dealer. Bargain after bargain was gobbled up by collectors — many of them first timers!

The Junior attendance was the highest in the history of Edmonton Stamp Shows. The kids were able to pick and choose at “no cost” items related to individual stamps, albums, collections and other philatelic supplies. In fact, the juniors were able to send themselves a “surprise gift” – which was mailed directly to their home address!

Also, Circuit Books reached peak sales as collectors cashed in on stamps from worldwide countries and just about any other topic you could think of.

HIGHLIGHT

The ESC PARTNERED with the Edmonton Food Bank with a “drop off” point of non-perishable food at the facility. The goal: Food for Those Who Need It the Most.
